There’s lots going on around the Lower Mainland and up the Sunshine Coast this week—here are a few events on our radar.

Historian Kate Bird has two back-to-back events this week for Vancouver in the Seventies: Photos from a Decade That Changed the City. The 40 minute talk and photograph slideshow will be followed by audience questions. You can catch her on Tuesday, June 13 in Burnaby, or on Wednesday, June 14 in West Vancouver.

Following an incredible launch last week, Eve Lazarus will be speaking at the North Vancouver District Public Library on June 14, 2017. Her new book, Blood, Sweat & Fear details the life of Vancouver’s pioneering forensics expert John Vance.

If poetry is more your style, you’re in for a treat! Sarah de Leew, Michael V. Smith, and Leanne Dunic are having a triple book launch on Wednesday, June 14 at Cottage Bistro.

And to kick off the weekend, on Friday, June 16, Caitlin Press is having a celebratory barbecue-style evening to commemorate 40 years of publishing. As part of the month of Sunshine Coast Pride, Caitlin Press will also be honouring a successful first year for its imprint, Dagger Editions, and hosting two events on Friday for Sunshine Coast Pride.
