We’ve got an action-packed week where you’ll wish you had a time machine—six events scheduled over three days! We hate to say it, but you’ll have to pick-and-choose. Here are some great literary events happening this week in BC.

On Tuesday, September 12, Shelley O’Callaghan will be reading in North Vancouver from her new book, How Deep is the Lake: A Century at Chilliwack Lake (Caitlin Press)

Also on Tuesday evening, Michael Kluckner will be reading and presenting his newest graphic novels, Toshiko and 2050! (Midtown Press), at Massey Books’ pop-up shop in Vancouver.

Thursday, September 14, Fernie is in for a treat as Angie Abdou launches her latest book, In Case I Go (Arsenal Pulp Press) in her hometown.

If you’re on Vancouver Island on Thursday, head to Nanaimo to hear Robert (Lucky) Budd for an evening exploring BC history straight from the voices of our early 20th century settlers themselves.

Friday, September 15, catch Angie Abdou in Cranbrook at Lotus Books where she’ll be reading from In Case I Go.

Also on Friday, courtesy of the University of Victoria, hear Dr. Jillian Roberts speak on how children’s literature can help foster child resilience in the face of uncertainty and modern problems. Dr. Jillian Roberts has partnered with Orca Book Publishers to write the JustEnough.ca series, using books to help parents and children navigate current issues.
