After a busy week and weekend, we’re continuing the Fall event madness. Multiple launches, tours kicking off, and tons of great books to read. 

Andrew Struthers kicks off his Up-Island in Smoke Tour reading from his new book, The Sacred Herb / The Devil’s Weed (New Star Books). He’ll be hitting Tofino on Tuesday, September 26, Ucluelet on Wednesday, September 27, and Port Alberni on Thursday, September 28.

The delightful Dina Del Bucchia will be launching her new book, Don’t Tell Me What to Do on Tuesday, September 26. She’ll be at Shenanigans on Robson with special guests Jen Sookfong LeeKellee NganAnthony Casey, and hosted by Cynara Geissler.

The 2nd annual Victoria Festival of Authors opens Wednesday, September 27, with a fantastic lineup of local and national authors, running until Sunday, October 1.

For 50 years The Georgia Straight has served as the voice of reason during a number of turbulent times. Doug Sarti’s The Georgia Straight: A 50th Anniversary Celebration (Rocky Mountain Books) will launch in Vancouver on Wednesday, September 27, at Book Warehouse Main Street.

Join award-winning local author, CBC personality and singer Grant Lawrence on Wednesday, September 27 for a literary and musical evening. Lawrence will read from his new rock ‘n’ roll memoir, Dirty Windshields, display a retrospective of Smugglers posters, and play live music from old Smugglers songs alongside former bandmates Adam Woodall and Nick Thomas.

Kara Stanley, author of Fallen, begins her tour for her new novel Ghost Warnings (Caitlin Press). She’ll be signing books at Talewind Books on Friday, September 29 and Saturday, September 30 prior to her evening launch on Saturday at the Sunshine Coast Arts Council.

Monique Gray Smith, award-winning author of Tilly and My Heart Fills With Happiness, will be launching her new book, Speaking Our Truth (Orca Books) on Saturday, September 30. September 30 is also Orange Shirt Day, which is an awareness day to keep the discussion on all aspects of residential schools happening annually.
