BC books nominated for CODE Burt Award 2018

On Wednesday, August 15, 2018, the National Reading Campaign announced the longlist for the 2018 CODE Burt Award for First Nations, Inuit, and Métis Young Adult Literature.

Among the nine titles nominated for the young adult award are The Journey ForwardTwo Novellas on Reconciliation: When We Play Our Drums, They Sing / Lucy & Lola by Richard Van Camp and Monique Gray Smith (McKeller and Martin) and Song of Batoche by Maia Caron (Ronsdale Press).

CODE will announce the three shortlisted titles during the 2018 Turtle Island Reads launch event on September 19, 2018 at McGill University in Montreal during the on-campus Indigenous Awareness Week.
