On Wednesday, August 15, 2018, the National Reading Campaign announced the longlist for the 2018 CODE Burt Award for First Nations, Inuit, and Métis Young Adult Literature.
Among the nine titles nominated for the young adult award are The Journey Forward—Two Novellas on Reconciliation: When We Play Our Drums, They Sing / Lucy & Lola by Richard Van Camp and Monique Gray Smith (McKeller and Martin) and Song of Batoche by Maia Caron (Ronsdale Press).
