Poetry in Transit Readings at Word Vancouver

September 24 | 1:35 PM - 2:35 PM

Free

This year at Word Vancouver, six of the poets selected this year for the long-running Poetry in Transit campaign will read from their latest collections.

Don’t miss this amazing opportunity to hear an eclectic and powerful collection of poems about love, life in Vancouver, and writing from some of the best upcoming and established poets in B.C.

Also take a tour of the Poetry Bus, featuring installations of all of this year’s featured poems!

Our host is Evelyn Lau. She is the Vancouver author of twelve books, including seven volumes of poetry.  Her work has received the Milton Acorn Award, the Pat Lowther Award, a National Magazine Award and a Governor-General’s nomination.  Evelyn’s poems have been chosen for the Best American Poetry and Best Canadian Poetry anthologies;  she served as Vancouver’s Poet Laureate from 2011-2014.  Her most recent collection is Tumour (Oolichan, 2016).
