The book illuminates the vast changes and growth; politically, socially, economically, and culturally, with exclusive photos from the Vancouver Sun‘s photographic holdings, Vancouver in the Seventies captures a very unique time in the city’s history.

Kate Bird is a librarian, recently retired from Pacific Newspaper Group after 25 years, where she helped manage the hard copy photograph collection and digital image archive at The Vancouver Sun and The Province. She has been a researcher for numerous books, including Stephen Hume’s Lilies and Fireweed: Frontier Women of British Columbia, Wildfire: British Columbia Burns, The Way We Were: B.C.’s Amazing Journey to the Millennium, and Making Headlines: 100 Years of The Vancouver Sun, which won the Bill Duthie Booksellers’ Choice Award at the 2013 BC Book Prizes. She lives in Vancouver, BC.
