Friday the 13th doesn’t have to be ominous… it can be exciting. Check out all these incredible events that are happening today, and later this week. Although the emphasis this week on crime books is a bit freaky. 

The revamped New West Festival of Words begins Friday, April 13 and runs through Sunday. Featured authors include Gail Anderson-DargatzJJ LeeRoberta Rich, and Rob Taylor.

The Crime Writers of Canada continue their 35th anniversary celebration with a reading and discussion in Vancouver on Saturday, April 14. Authors in attendance include Carys Cragg and Robert Mackay, so you’ll get a taste of both fact and fiction.
