It’s been a busy week for us a Read Local BC HQ, with BC Book Day earlier this week. BC Book Day also coincided with UNESCO World Book and Copyright Day, so we hope you’ll take the opportunity to celebrate books at one of these upcoming events.

Rod Mickleburgh and the BC Labour Heritage Centre Society launch On the Line: A History of the British Columbia Labour Movement on Tuesday, May 1 in Burnaby. Published by Harbour Publishing, Rod Mickleburg was commissioned by the BC Labour Heritage Centre to write On the Line. The BC Labour Heritage Cente received sponsorship from the Community Savings Credit Union (originally formed by members of the International Woodworkers of America union).

Laisha Rosnau will be in Kelowna on Tuesday, May 1, for the launch of her book, Our Familiar Hunger. She will be joined by Kelowna poet and playwright, Erin Scott.
