DESCRIPTION:Celebrate Family Literacy Week at Parkgate Library! Join us for an exciting\, engaging\, and interactive program with a local author. \nRachel Poliquin explores wonder and curiosity in her gorgeous book The Strangest Thing in the Sea. During this program\, Rachel will share the inspiration behind the book – then invite participants to dive deep into a world of creative thinking and strangeness by creating their very own Strangest Thing in the Sea! \nRegistration is required. This program is best suited for children aged 6-12. Parents are highly encouraged to participate and to attend if they feel their child may benefit from extra support. \nRachel Poliquin is an award-winning author of children’s non-fiction. She mostly writes about animals and particularly likes exploring the overlooked heroes of the natural world. Her books include I Am Wind: An Autobiography\, This is Orange\, and The Museum of Odd Body Leftovers\, which has been translated into 10 languages.
