DESCRIPTION:Poets Corner Reading Series welcomes Alice Major and Jordan Scott. Alice Major has published twelve collections of poetry\, two novels for young adults and an award-winning collection of essays about poetry and science. Jordan Scott is a poet and children’s author. His debut children’s book\, I Talk Like a River (illustrated by Sydney Smith)\, was a New York Times best Children’s Book of 2020. \nIn addition to readings by our featured poets\, Poets Corner welcomes audience members to register at the door for 3-minute Open Mic time slots.\nThis is a hybrid event.\nMay 17 | 7:30 pm PST\nFairleigh Dickinson University\, Vancouver\nOr on Zoom (register for link at poetscorner.ca)\nBy donation (Suggested $5. Then\, we’ll hear from Gregor Craigie\, reading from his nonfiction book about earthquakes\, On Borrowed Time; fiction author Jen Neale\, reading from her novel-in-progress about the Vancouver earthquake\, Frances Peck reading from her debut novel about the Vancouver earthquake\, The Broken Places\, and finally Eliza Robertson will read from her brand new true-crime book\, I Got a Name: The Murder of Krystal Senyk. We’ll end the evening with a Q&A with the authors.
